The inaugural exhibition for the reopening of the Musée Joseph Denais in 2011, recounted here in numerous photographs and an original text by Patrick Mauriès, sheds light on two collectors, inspired by the same insatiable curiosity. One, Joseph Denais (1851-1916), assembled seven thousand objects into an extraordinary cabinet of curiosities. The other, Antoine de Galbert, is the founder of La maison rouge and a collector whose singular choices, ranging from contemporary art to tribal art, art brut, religious art and curios, are at home in this atypical museum.
