The monographs in this collection titled Un certain désordre are published by the Antoine de Galbert Foundation. Each book features numerous reproductions of artworks alongside a text written by the artist him or herself or an author of this choice. There were no rules for the choice of artists.

Benoit Huot was born in 1966 in Montbéliard. His work perfectly matches the spirit of our ‘Un certain désordre’ collection, which dedicates him its seventh issue. In 2012, a representative from the Ministry of Culture brought him to my attention, pointing out that his work was too far removed from what the State could support, which naturally triggered my curiosity. I discovered an isolated artist, yet deeply knowledgeable about the world, who flirted with bad taste without ever succumbing to it. There was a ‘Maison Rouge’ spirit to his work, which immediately led to the organisation of his first solo exhibition.
