Machines à dormir (Sleeping Machines) is a book written by Wiame Haddad, Léa Morin, and Montasser Drissi.

It is based on Wiame Haddad’s photograph À propos d’une chambre occupée (vision d’une soirée d’octobre 1961) and stills of rooms—as spaces of anger and struggle—taken from activist films from the 1960s and 1970s. It presents archives and documents from the rent strikes and anti-racist mobilizations of the 1970s (Sonacotra, Mouvement des travailleurs arabes), combined with the committed perspectives of Jean-Louis Boissier, Monique Hervo, and Élie Kagan on poor housing.

It proceeds by collage, dismantling, and reassembly, with manifestos and testimonies from Madeleine Beauséjour, Michèle Acquaviva-Pache, François Maspero, and Med Hondo. Contributions from Samia Henni, Victorine Grataloup, Hajer Ben Boubaker, Léa Morin, and Philippe Artières are also included.
